Wooden Queen was my first attempt toward creating an action figure based on one of my characters with the use of wood. unfortunately having almost no time on my own, instead of using hard wood I decided to go for Balsa soft wood for the body and with use of hard bubinka wood for ball and sockets I created a solid joint system to be able to pose it freely. the whole process of design was very primitive (this is a 3 years old work and during that time i was not aware of the wonder of 3D print technology).so I created the character and its technical solutions in 3D and I printed out the technical sheets and simply I started carving balsa based on this data. the result was a bulky satisfying little wooden queen ;)
